Southwest Houston and Fort Bend County Neighborhoods

One of the most expansive areas in Houston is the southwest region, which encompasses part of Harris County and Fort Bend County. The far western part of the area is dotted with ranches and horse-boarding farms. Several master-planned communities, such as First Colony, Greatwood, New Territory, Sienna Plantation, Orchard Lakes and Lake Olympia, combined with consistently top-rated school districts, make this area popular with newcomers. Prices in these areas start in the $100's and go up to one million or more.

Arcola, Meadows, Missouri City, Stafford, Richmond and Rosenberg are incorporated townships of Fort Bend County. At the outer southwest corner of Loop 610 sits Meyerland. The communities of Alief and Sharpstown also occupy the southwest and west Houston. The state's oldest company, Imperial Sugar, is located in Sugar Land.
